My Story

and it all began...

...and still going!!!

 

I'm a 46-year veteran of the Food Service Industry.  I began my career in college stuffing hot dogs in concession bags for football games.  Through A LOT of hard work and fun, I earned opportunities for myself that eventually led to being a General Manager for The Hard Rock Cafe both domestically and internationally.

My first experience cooking pit smoked BBQ was in 1989 while working as a manager for the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City.  The co-founder of The Hard Rock Cafe; Isaac Tigrett was from Memphis and opened the New York City location and was the first person EVER in New York City history to offer TRUE Pit Smoked BBQ to both the unsuspecting residents of NYC and its tourists.

During the past sixteen years I have traveled the United States EXTENSIVELY talking, tasting and learning about all the regional BBQ flavors, tastes and recipes I possibly could.  I'm a; Kansas City Barbeque Society Competition Judge, Competition Pitmaster and the 2016 & 2017 VIP Lollapalooza Pitmaster for the music festival's owners.  And proud member of the 2022 & 2023 'Hogs For The Cause' Grand Champion Team: 'HOG ADDICTION'
